Building an Investment Habit
A cohort is a habit engine: a fixed amount, a fixed cadence, a twelve-month horizon. Character before complexity.
Most people do not fail at investing because they picked the wrong fund. They fail because they never started, stopped after a scare, or treated the market like a casino.
A habit is a decision you only make once. ₦10,000 on a standing date removes the monthly argument with yourself.
Automation, when the licensed platform allows it, is kinder than willpower. So is keeping the amount small enough that a difficult month does not force a break.
Misses happen. The recovery is to resume, not to double-up in shame or abandon the year.
Twelve months is long enough to feel the habit and short enough to review it. After that, you choose continuation with open eyes.
